1. Assurance of salvation is the goal.
1 Tim 6:12 – Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were calledand about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Heb. 3:14 – For we share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.
1 Tim 6:19 – thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.
2. Same God saves with the same gospel.
Gal 1:6-10 – I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ
2 Tim 4:1-2 – I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season.
1 Cor 1:22-25 – 22 For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
3. Same God with the same gospel results in same salvation (cont’d in part 4)
