Sprouts Elementary

Kinder - 6th Grade

Sprouts is Berean's elementary education ministry. Together with the Seeds (toddler- pre-K) and Vine (junior high and high school) Ministries, we partner with families to support them in discipling their children. We meet Sunday mornings during 2nd service. We begin our time together in corporate worship and Bible lesson, and then break out into our classes for discussion and application. We currently have a K class, a 1st/2nd grade class, a 3rd/4th grade class and a 5th/6th grade class. All classes use curriculum developed by our Education Pastor Peter Chung and Sprouts teachers.

Sunday Worship 11 am *

Located on the Second Floor

*Signups are required

  • If your child is not signed up through the Google Doc, we will not accept your child into the service.
  • You can sign up your child at any time prior to the Sunday you are planning to bring him/her but we will not be taking sign-ups on the morning of the service.
  • Online class studies and resources will continue in the beginning stages of the re-opening for families who choose to worship from home, but they will slowly be phased out.

Covid Protocols

  • Though we will take every precaution we can to prevent the spread of Covid, we do know that there are things that we may not be able to control.
  • In the event that a child and/or family members has symptoms related to Covid-19, please keep your child home and notify his teacher.
  • In the event a SOW child is exposed to a person who has been tested positive for Covid-19, please let the SOW staff know. We will keep it confidential, but we will inform all potentially compromised parties with discretion.
  • In the event one of the teachers is tested positive for Covid, he/she will immediately notify the staff and suspend all physical contact with the students until cleared by health professionals
  • As it is difficult to pre-determine many aspects related to the spread of Covid-19, some of our decisions will have to be determined on a case by case basis.

Healthy Child Guidelines

  • The Sprouts check-in (temperature check, child drop off, etc.) will be done at the base of the main outside stairway. They will pick up Sunday school worksheets at the entrance.
  • The students will be worshipping on the second floor with socially distanced assigned seating. All students and staff will be required to keep masks on during the praise time and Bible study time, with the exception of the speaker and praise leader.
  • The offering basket will not be passed around, but a teacher will walk around with the basket to minimize contact.
  • The students will be dismissed by class to their classrooms.
  • We ask that the parents come and collect their children promptly after the conclusion of the main service.
  • The seats in the “sanctuary” area and the classrooms will be wiped down and handled by the staff.

As usual, to minimize the spread of infection, please do not check your child into nursery if they have had the following symptoms within the last 24hrs:
  • Fever
  • Colored nasal discharge
  • Wet, non-allergy cough
  • Conjunctivitis or pink eye
  • Earache or sore throat
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Measles, roseola, chicken pox, hand, foot and mouth disease
