1. How is the serpent introduced in verse 1? What words are used to describe it?
2, What exactly does the serpent ask the woman? How does he twist God’s words?
3. Compare Eve’s response in verses 2–3 with God’s original command in Genesis 2:16–17. What differences do you notice?
4. In verse 6, what three things does the woman see about the tree?
5. In what way is Genesis 3:15 considered the first promise of the gospel (the “protoevangelium”)?
6. How do Adam and Eve respond when God questions them (vv. 9–13)?
